The marathon of the anticorrosion continues. But today there will be no familiar multi-colored flags - all participants represent the same most popular brand - Movil.


Only the memories of old-timers remained from the former Moscow-Vilnius reduction. The current "Movil" has become a household name, denoting a class of drugs for the protection of hidden cavities. And if so, then the seller’s question “What kind of Movil? For you?” Will not seem strange, since each manufacturer has his own judgment on this drug. Let's try to find out how these judgments, embodied in anticorrosive, are able to protect metal from corrosion.

For testing, it was possible to acquire seven “Movilia” made by different companies in Russia, Lithuania and Belarus. Preparations No. 1 and 7 have an aerosol package, the rest are splashing in bottles and bottles. During the tests, experts evaluated the anticorrosion by 12 parameters. Let us briefly recall the essence of research.

The content of the active substance is an indirect indicator of the "environmental friendliness" of the drug: the more the better. The dropping point shows the film's resistance to heat: the higher it is, the better it is again. Heat resistance characterizes the ability of the protective composition not to leak through the technological holes from the protected boundaries during the operation of the car. The impact on the paint does not need comments - who wants to use a drug that can damage the appearance of the machine? “Micro clearance clearance” speaks of the penetrating properties of the product - they are evaluated using two tightly compressed steel plates, the edge of one of which is immersed in the cell with the drug. A good anticorrosive must climb to a height of at least 50 mm.

Moisture penetrating into hidden body cavities necessarily brings with it corrosive substances - from salts to soil particles - which fall into stagnant zones with poor ventilation. With this in mind, the protective effect of preparations for hidden cross-sections should contribute to the displacement of water and electrolyte from the surface of the metal and contribute to the formation of a protective film on the metal that prevents the access of electrolyte. In water displacement tests, the quality criterion is the diameter of the water "puddle" into which the drug is introduced - the norm is at least 60 mm, and measurements are carried out three times. When checking the displacement of a NaCl solution, the diameters of the spots of the product and the displaced electrolyte are measured, as well as the value of the area of ​​the metal affected by corrosion.

If the metal being processed has already begun to rust, it is very important that the protective material penetrates the rust layer and prevents the further development of corrosion. To evaluate this property, the experts impregnate with a preparation a column of rust 25 mm high and 10 mm in diameter - the anticorrosive penetration should be at least 8 mm.

The most “terrible” test awaits any anticorrosive in the salt fog chamber. The operating experience of the compositions for the hidden cavities of the car shows: to ensure reliable protection for 1–1.5 years, it is necessary that, when tested in the specified chamber, the samples withstand at least 300 hours. For all this time, they are allowed to give rust about one to two percent of the metal to be protected. To save time, the test volume was slightly reduced - experts estimated the time until the first signs of corrosion appeared, as well as the percentage of the affected surface after 100 and 150 hours, respectively.

The test results of Movil are shown in the table. This time we decided to confine ourselves to purely technical results and dispense with traditional assessments on a five-point system. In our opinion, only one drug proved to be positive, the rest failed. However, everyone can create their own ranking table, according to the figures given.


The aerosol spray jet formed a light brown film on the metal surface - thin, transparent and uniform, in a word - normal.

The "Muscovite" has environmental problems - in this nomination he is the penultimate one. Relations with the heat resistance also did not work out: already at 63 ° C, the drug begins to “drip”. But in winter Moscow “Movil” cannot be scared - however, absolutely all participants passed the test. It is not necessary to repaint the car after getting drops of such a drug on its wing - they are easily removed with gasoline. According to the micro-clearance, the Muscovite climbs easily - 120 mm at a rate of 50. The impregnation of rust is excellent. Spreadability on a metal surface is average, like everyone else has.

The displacement of water from the surface of the metal (d1) of the drug is very good, but … A strong protective layer on its surface (d3) does not form, and therefore, wait for rust. This confirms the test for the effectiveness of the displacement of a 3% salt solution - 15% of the metal rusted.

Salt fog finally sentenced the drug to disqualification. Corrosion began within two days, and then a complete nightmare. After 100 hours, 70% of the metal died, and after 150 hours one rust remained.

No. 2 "MOVIL-1"


Petersburger turned out to be the second in ecology, but failed in terms of heat resistance, almost reaching the coveted milestone.

In the future, everything was better than others. Frost resistance is good, loyal to lacquer paint, rises perfectly according to micro-clearance. Impregnation of rust is good, spreadability is the same as for all, water displacement is satisfactory. But the Petersburg “Movil” coped with salt better than anyone else, giving rust only 5% of the territory. And in the salt fog chamber, a native of North Palmyra behaved simply perfectly - the percentage of the affected surface is zero! In the end - a clean first place, because all the opponents ate rust …


The “strong” side of the “Belarus” is the heat resistance of the film. Of the seven participants, only two foreigners - No. 3 and 6 - will not be afraid of parking under the hot sun.

Ecology and frost resistance of the Belarusian “Movil” is in order, but everything else is not quite. The micro-clearance lift is the worst: only 45 mm. Impregnation of rust is normal, spreadability is average, water displacement is also. Salt is unimportant - when a 3% solution was displaced, 10% of the metal area was damaged, and in 150 hours 70% of the metal died in the chamber. This is somewhat better than 100% in No. 1, but the sentence is the same - to the scrap!


The film of the drug is light brown, uniform and all that. Ecology is the best.

But the heat resistance - alas … Everything is in order with frost, with varnish - too, it creeps along the micro-gap quite quickly, impregnates rust well, and spreadability is average. Water displacement, unfortunately, is the worst, and when displacing NaCl, 10% of the plate rusted. In the salt fog chamber everything was fine for 72 hours, but then the “dark forces” prevailed. After 150 hours, half of the steel plate 10 was damaged by corrosion, and therefore the protective properties of the “Petersburger” were recognized as low.

No. 5 "MOVIL NN"


I wonder if the manufacturers of Nuxidol somewhere indicate that its analogue is the Nizhny Novgorod Movil. Megalomania, so to speak …

The Movilya-Nuksidol film is uneven, the active substance content is low, the dropping point is only 53 ° C, and the heat resistance is poor. It is getting sad. We already know everything about frost, we don’t spoil the paint … There is no problem with the micro-gap - 120 mm! Impregnation of rust - excellent, spreadability - medium, water displacement - too. In the fight against salt, the indicators are good - only 5% of the metal suffered under the stain of the product, and this is one of the best indicators among colleagues. For 150 hours, 25% of the metal died in the salt chamber - the second indicator in our examination, which, nevertheless, is tantamount to a complete failure. We remind you that in 300 hours you can give corrosion only 1-2% of the metal - no more …

No. 6 "MOVIL-2"


But this must be the real “Movil”, we thought, having hardly obtained a bottle of Lithuanian preparation. And they were mistaken.

Litovets won the drop-down competition and demonstrated excellent heat resistance of the film. By micro-clearance, he easily climbed 120 mm - excellent! Impregnation of rust - good, flowability - like everyone else. And then - a complete fiasco.

Having shown poor ability to displace water, the drug confirmed them and when displacing salt - 15% of the metal is eaten by rust. In the salt fog chamber, the first signs of corrosion appeared after 48 hours, after another 52 hours 70% of the protected metal died, and after 150 hours there was nothing to save. Of all the Movilia, only No. 1 steel defended so poorly.
