Many car enthusiasts with skepticism are skeptical about information about new anti-corrosion treatment technologies, seeing in them only a way to tear off the “grandmother” from the client. Whether it is a matter of weighty jars with anticorrosive weapons: armed with a brush or a simple spray gun - and come on, layer by layer. Well, it's a master's business. And yet you should not think that modern drugs here are “from the evil one”.
REBAX, ROGNEDA, MOSCOW
Designed to protect the underbody of the car. It forms a strong abrasion-resistant film, the thickness of which practically does not change when rotating in a mixture of salt and sand. Environmental indicators are average. The composition does not drain from a vertical surface when heated to 110 ° C and does not crack when cooled to minus 40 ° C. The adhesion test, unfortunately, does not stand up. The penetration (usually consistency) of the composition is average, which allows it to be applied both with a brush and by spraying. Indifferent to salt fog - for 310 hours in the chamber he did not give the enemy an inch of metal.
"FERRO-BARRIER D2-01", RUSSIA
Environmental indicators are disgusting - the mass fraction of non-volatile substances is only 22.8%. Relations with adhesion also did not work out. If it gets on the paint, it peels off! At the same time, the drug has excellent heat resistance - it is not afraid even of a 50-degree frost. Abrasion resistance is excellent.
When tested in a salt fog chamber for up to 240 hours, the Ferro-Barrier did well, but then passed … By the end of the 310th hour, 35% of the protected metal was rusted.
BKM-100, ROGNEDA, MOSCOW
Designed to protect both the underbody and hidden vehicle sections. Withstands the adhesion test and does not flow down vertically at 110 ° C. Tolerates frost to minus 30 ° C. Abrasion resistance is very good, although worse than that of Rebax. Penetration is average.
As for the hidden cavities, the manufacturers of the drug got excited - the BKM-100 does not possess the necessary surface properties. Judge for yourselves: water displacement is bad, it does not penetrate rust, it does not penetrate into micro-gaps and cracks … It cannot boast of speed - the electrolyte displaces poorly, and significant corrosion is formed under the product film (up to 50%). In general, a settlement only on the bottom is recommended. Note that the salt spray has not been afraid of the salt during the entire test period - there is no corrosion.
FERRO-BARRIER D-06, RUSSIA
Another drug with a well-known name and universal purpose. Ecology is normal. The composition withstands + 135 ° C and does not crack at minus 30 ° C, although the instructions in a breeze promised minus 46 ° C … Adhesion is bad. When hit on the paintwork, it is easily removed with gasoline, leaving no residue. Abrasion resistance is the lowest of all tested drugs: film thickness decreased by as much as 20%.
According to the description, the drug must have water-displacing properties and well permeate corrosion products, which means that it can be used on wet and partially rusted coatings. Alas, it didn’t work out. It displaces water poorly, disdains impregnation of rust, does not want to climb micro-gaps, salt does not drive away, and under the product film - up to 30% corrosion … But in the salt fog for the entire time of testing I had no comments.
TEXTILE BODYSAFE, HOLLAND
The Dutch envoy is a resident of the bottom. It does not drain from a vertical surface at 125 ° C and does not crack at minus 40 ° C. Withstands adhesion tests. It has good abrasion resistance. Paint, of course, does not spoil. Salt fog is not scared. In general, supported the brand …
Designed for "protection" of the bottom. Champion in environmental indicators - the mass fraction of non-volatile substances is 84.5%. The product film does not drain from a vertical surface at + 125 ° С and does not crack at minus 40 ° С. It does not affect paint. Abrasion resistance - on top. Salt fog for 310 hours is not scared. In general, a wonderful drug.
FERRO-BARRIER SP-01, RUSSIA
The drug has a good "ecology" and everything else is bad - it drains, does not saturate, does not displace "and in general." In the salt spray chamber, the composition “faltered” after 120 hours, but then changed its mind and “stuck” with initial signs of corrosion for a total of 310 hours.
"AERODOR", "DELAN", BALASHIKHA
Recommended to protect the underbody. Environmental performance is one of the best. Abrasion resistance is very good. During the test for adhesion, bare metal was not observed, but a cohesive rupture occurred - partial removal of the surface layer of the film. Normal temperature resistance, frost resistance - minus 30 ° С. The drug is quite thick - you can work only with a brush, but not with a spray gun. Resistant to salt fog - after 310 hours no metal damage was detected.
“CODED UNDERBODY PROTECTION”, BELGIUM
The Belgian envoy showed that he is more or less able to protect the bottom. Disadvantages - afraid of the cold below minus 20 ° C and unfamiliar with the adhesion test. Advantages - excellent ecology, good abrasion resistance. The thickest of all - its penetration is only 100 mm-1. It does not affect paint. I had no comments in the salt fog chamber.
Composition for hidden cavities. The viscosity of the drug is very low - you can just dip small parts. Unlike his teammate, he could not prove himself worthy. Ecology is average. Temperature range - from minus 40 to + 110 ° С. Water displaces well, but there are problems with salt - corrosion develops under the film. It does not penetrate into micro-gaps; it does not impregnate rust. After 240 hours in the chamber, it “corroded” 2-3% of the metal, and after 312 hours - 15%.

Composition for hidden cavities. Environmental indicators are average, but all the rest are excellent. It is not afraid of a 50-degree frost, it does not leak when heated to + 125 ° C, it displaces water well, penetrates into micro-gaps and does not allow corrosion to develop under the product film. To stay in the salt spray chamber he reacted with complete indifference - for 310 hours, rust did not appear. One word is firm.
To summarize the first results of our acquaintance with the “garage” anticorrosive materials. Pleased "Aerodor" - long live "our"! Of the overseas guests, the Valvolina team performed perfectly with both tektiles and Merkasol-4 from the Swedish company Geveko (Table 1). However, we will make final conclusions about the level of protective properties only after the tested compounds overcome the 600-hour mark.

One of the most interesting anticorrosive competitions is staying in a salt fog chamber. Assessing the ability of the preparations in aerosol containers (ЗР, 1999, No. 11), we published data obtained after 288 hours of testing. However, the tests did not end there: a truly good drug should “endure” much longer - as much as 600 hours!
Seven preparations for hidden cavities and five for protection of the bottom reached the indicated mark. The rest died in the battle for metal. The results are shown in table. 2 and 3.
Among the protective compounds for hidden cavities, only the Belgian “Sudal INCOAT-ML”, the Dutch “Tektil-ML” and the American 3M 08001 have confirmed their professional suitability. Their colleagues clearly “lost their way” by suggesting a draw. Of the preparations for the bottom 3M 08877 (USA), as well as the Swiss Hardwax and Tektil BODYSAFE from the country of tulips, deserved the highest rating.
TO THE QUESTION OF “DISSENTERS”
