This collection of fake unusable parts * was assembled by the repairmen of one of the Moscow service stations.
Open a collection of fakes engine parts. Please, here is the Zhiguli water pump. Apparently, having served his term, they went over and gave out for a new one. The body of the unit has been cleaned with a “sandblast”: catalog numbers, material marking and manufacturer’s name (VAZ) are visible. Fake seats were “updated” on the lathe, removing a fair amount of metal (photo 1, processing points are shown by arrows). Result: the impeller of the pump abuts against the wall of the cylinder block. In addition, the dodgers, taking care of the presentation of the unit, replaced the hairpin. Please note that the thread pitch at the bulkhead and the original is different, therefore, a regular nut will not work.
Two cars suffered from the “left” shoe tensioner and chain stabilizer. They are probably from the same batch as the pseudobalakovskie previously presented in the journal (ЗР, 1999, No. 9). This is what happens due to poorly made adhesive bonding: take a look at the tensioner shoe - the metal frame is covered with a loose layer of rust (photo 2).
Let us now consider several parts of a Solex carburetor, more precisely, their fakes. Here are two diaphragms of the starting device: the first is “native”, the origin of the second is unknown (photo 3). The difference in the position of the air damper rod is easy to notice: in the "non-native" one it is rotated 90 degrees. By the way, the same happens with other carburetor parts. When installing, you will have to punch new holes … although it is better to throw out the fake - it is not known what material it is made of.
The following in the “collection” are shut-off valves of the float chamber or, as they are also called, “needles” for “Solex” and “Ozone”. Quite often, these parts, especially those sold in bulk, are not able to fulfill their direct responsibilities. The easiest, but alas, unhygienic way to check for leaks is to draw in air with the needle completely recessed into the body (valve closed). If the valve holds for more than two to three seconds - you can buy.
And here are the brakes: Zhiguli front pads. The first thing that catches your eye is the fake overlay 3 mm thicker than the original (photo 4). With the new brake discs such pads are unlikely to get along in the calipers - too thick. The frame of the curve, in addition, is 3-4 mm longer than the factory: when installing the pads, you will have to resort to using a file.
Before us are two protective covers of the "Zhiguli" ball joint (photo 5). For a fake, the diameter of the boot hole is noticeably larger than that of the original. The "native" cover "sits" tightly on the finger of the hinge, false - dangles. Water, dirt, salt falling under it will quickly destroy the support. Another difference of a fake is that there is no metal ring in the rubber corrugation (shown by the red arrow).
Finally - two parts of the chassis of the Lada. Front wheel bearings of the Moscow factory (GPZ-1) and Chinese, covered with this brand. The last resource is only a few thousand kilometers. You can distinguish a fake from the original by marking: the correct one is “GPZ-1”, the fake has “1 GPZ” (photo 6).
