Toyota Yaris VERSO

Muscovites could admire this car at the Moscow Motor Show-99. Tall, almost square format, it is, perhaps, claims to open a new class of multi-purpose mini-cars. With a length of only 3.86 m (and this is 30 cm shorter than the Golf), the passengers in the rear seats do not lack legroom, and there are still 390 liters of luggage space behind them! But that is not all that Japanese bonsai is capable of. The left and right rear seats, if necessary, fold and disappear under the floor, and the middle one, weighing only 6 kg (when folded, serves as a convenient table), is easily removed. Then a fantastic amount of luggage is released in the cabin - 1930 liters - about the same as a Mercedes-Benz E-class station wagon! Another trick for lovers of "take everything with you": the compartment under the floor where the seats are folded can serve as an additional "secret" and very roomy trunk!

Under the hood, Verso still deserves the highest ratings. A 1.3-liter petrol 16-valve engine with adjustable valve lift develops solid 86 hp, complies with strict D3 environmental standards and costs just 6.4 liters of gasoline per 100 kilometers. Of course, safety has not been forgotten. Disc brakes - with ABS and electronic brake force distribution, four airbags, pretensioners and belt force limiters, five protective head restraints are kept in the cabin. Verso is available in two versions: the so-called “line of the moon” is simpler, the “line of the sun” is abruptly. But even in the cheapest car you will find a power steering, a steering wheel adjustable in height and, of course, an on-board computer! And one more that distinguishes the new Toyota from other babies - the size of the wheels is 175 / 65R14.
