What is the point of roaring away from the traffic light and with a rattle, slow down at the next one, where you still catch up with the main stream? Excuse me, dear, I myself have been just as rational since the morning, but now I have a hundred forces more under the hood. They eagerly dig the ground with their hooves - more precisely, they scratch the asphalt with thorns and make them wail: come on, come on! How to resist here. Yes and whether it is necessary if you laid out 30 thousand dollars for this thoroughbred cat.

Red, yellow, green … "Cougar", barking, twitching and … right away, winking, anxiously flashing the icon "TS". It is clear that 2.5 liters of working volume and 220 Newton-meters effortlessly tore the wheels into a slip - it immediately worked, traction control, "strangling" the engine. In the second gear, the TS is still on: there is plenty of momentum, but how to realize it on salted slush? I turn off the traction control - it’s only worse: the motor roars, the wheels slip and the nose of the car slides down the slope to the right. Oh, it would be summer and dry asphalt!

At higher speeds and transmissions, the “status quo" is restored. While others accelerate, snarling engines, “Cougar” in response to pressing the accelerator powerfully, but gently “jumps” forward, as befits a predatory cat. And no matter what the speed is: 50, 100 or 150 km / h. The driver in front of a going car usually gives in to such an excellence in dynamics, hastening to take the right lane. However, you should not get carried away: a powerful motor, good noise isolation - and now the speedometer needle turned out to be much more to the right than you expected. However, in this case there are ventilated disc brakes, while the ABS works almost inaudibly, without a frightening rattle. The steering wheel is good - sharp, informative and moderately light. However, the amplifier almost lacks productivity and with a sharp turn of the steering wheel, the force on it suddenly increases sharply - as if it rests against a retreating limiter.

Out of the corner of my eye I catch on myself, or rather, on my car, interested looks. Well, there’s something to see: the smooth contours of the squat and swift silver handsome are streaked with sharp broken lines in the signature “Ford” style of “New Age”. And what are the front light blocks with “cat's eye” headlights and tiny “dimensions” similar to flashlights! True, the functionality of the latter is doubtful - they are clearly visible only strictly in front.

Okay, adrenaline is enough. Cats, after all, can not only jump, but also slide, purring. So I will settle under purrs in a gray-silver interior. What is there on the board computer display? Average speed, mileage on the remaining fuel - thanks. But this is interesting: the average consumption of 12.9 l / 100 km - great! If softer, then, perhaps, you can meet the "ten".

The interior is simple enough, but the details are original: look at least at the ventilation deflectors and door panels. By the way, while getting into the car, I noticed that there are no frames at the doors - with a small width of the roof of the sports car, such a solution will give a little more space to the side of the head, and the door looks more beautiful.

Leather seats are good - of course, with electric heating: not sports "buckets", but not "sofas", but just what you need: moderately soft, with good fixation. They are adjustable in height - with a growth of 180 cm, only in the uppermost position I pulled out the top of the roof. In the backs, in addition to the front ones, there are large side airbags; they protect not only the forearm, but also the head. I will not discuss the installation of climate control and an audio system with a CD player - this is the norm in such a machine. Excellent control box - with short clear strokes; True, when you turn on II and IV gears, you cling to the central armrest.

“What are you stuck to the steering wheel, but fingers spread out with a steep fan? - you ask. - Gas brake, pimp buttons … Does the car end behind the back of the front seats? But what about the rear passengers - is it written that the Cougar is four-seater? Or, say, what we have with the trunk? ”

Guilty, carried away. Rear passengers "no way" - not for them the car was built. They sit almost on the floor, in the deep bowls of the seats, sandwiched from the sides by wheel arches and flattened on top of the edge of a sloping roof. So they are not recommended to grow above 170 cm and gain more than 70 kg. But with the trunk, on the contrary, the complete order is huge to the point of unbelief, as much as 410 liters! Suddenly the owner is addicted to golf - where to put clubs? Or, let’s say, he will go on a trip - what to do with suitcases? Even the skis come in, it is worth folding the backs of the rear seats. In general, those who claim that cars, like animals, are copies of their masters are right. And for cats, selfishness is the norm, because they always walk on their own, no matter how much you tame them. Not in vain on the wheel hub, where the company emblem usually flaunts, the Cougar has a cat's head with a bared mouth.
