AND WE CAN!

World premieres at the Moscow exhibition “Tires, RTI

and rubbers "- an event not only for specialists.

Alexander BUDKIN

The most noticeable of them is the Continental show of the hitherto never seen Gislaved Nord Frost 3 tire. Its predecessors “Nord Frost” and “Nord Frost 2” were rightly considered among the best among winter studded tires for several years. In addition to the usual wavy lamellas, the novelty has eight rows of plastic spikes and an original directional pattern - a Christmas tree with asymmetrical "branches". It is noteworthy that Nord Frost 3 will be presented in Europe only in September - an exception has been made for the Moscow exhibition.

At the same stand, they also showed the new Conti-Premium Contact summer tire for lovers of fast driving. By the way, also a world premiere.

However, not only foreigners ruled the ball here, the Russian tire workers also looked good.

The Nizhnekamsk plant demonstrated a cargo tubeless I-393 with a dimension of 315 / 70R22.5 with a promising all-metal cord - TsMK (see below), the toothy winter Kama-514 is still rare, but desirable for owners of VAZ 2110 3, dimensions 175 / 65R14, and summer "Kamu-205" 175 / 70R13 with the prefix "Eco", showing that such care is not alien to the domestic manufacturer.

The Kirov tire decided to draw attention to the K-171 model of the "jeep" dimension 235 / 75R15 with a universal tread pattern (summer-winter, asphalt-dirt): it was developed for the Elabuga Blazer. However, the permissible loads of 180 km / h and 925 kg for it will prove fit for other large off-road vehicles. Here they also proudly demonstrated the K-156 187 / 75R16 tire, which was awarded a prize among the hundred best goods of Russia, as well as a wide range of products for Sable.

Omsk tire plant boasted a promising tire for KamAZ. So fresh that the information about it did not have time to get into any advertising or information booklet. As they say, from the heat, from the heat.

Belarusian colleagues showed their interest in the Russian market “most of all” - literally. Their stand at the exhibition almost surpassed the stands of all Russian colleagues combined in area. It is noteworthy that here, too, one of the promising 185 / 60R14 models with a road tread pattern should please the owners of the VAZ “one hundred and third”.

It was possible to look into the near and even distant future of the Russian tire industry at the stand of the Institute of the tire industry - NIISHP. The institute, in addition to previously developed models with an all-metal cord (CMC) of 22.5 inches in size, showed samples with a CMC of 19.5 (cargo trailers) and 17.5 inches ("Bull"). Here we are only catching up with global manufacturers - the share of such tires in the world is about 90%. We are accustomed to several layers of a metal breaker with a textile carcass - a tire with a CMC does not contain textiles at all and has only one layer of cord. This design allows you to repeatedly restore the tire, bringing its total resource to 400-500 thousand km. In addition, products with CMC have lower rolling resistance, they do not heat up so much and can withstand speeds of up to 140 km / h.

Of the cars at the NIISHP stand, colorful polyurethane (oligomeric) tires attracted attention (photo 5). They have been showing them for several years. Advantages - 15–20% less weight, 10% less rolling resistance, better grip and full regeneration: it’s “easy” to get new tires from old tires. Disadvantages are very expensive and there is no one to do them in the required quantities.

But, it seems, and that in which we are not behind the West. The Nizhnekamsk enterprise KamEkoTekh presented an ABSOLUTELY environmentally friendly technology for processing old tires. Many modern processes involve cooling the rubber to low (usually cryogenic) temperatures. As a rule, liquid nitrogen with a temperature of minus 196 ° C is used for this. The Russians went the other way - they resorted to the thermodynamic expansion (in a special apparatus) of the air, cooling it to minus 80–90 degrees. Along with environmental friendliness, this method has one more advantage - the rubber crumb obtained with such cooling practically does not lose its properties.

Equipment for tire studs, various rubber products and much, much more were also presented. The main impression of what he saw is that the Russian tire industry is gaining momentum. Let's rejoice at this.

The hit of the exhibition - “Gislaved Nord Frost 3” (Gislaved Nord Frost 3) - on the left.

Readers learned about the presentation of the second tire in January. Now - a "live" exhibit.

Nizhnekamsk tire factory prepared the exposition very carefully.
