You can delight your hearing without a wasteful investment.

For the owner of an inexpensive domestic car is enough

Radio with cassette deck. Let's try the devices for the price of up to one hundred dollars.

Going shopping, refresh the names of well-known manufacturers, as the probability of an imminent failure of an unnamed fake is close to one hundred percent. A good choice is the Sarapul “Ural” (RM-206CA, RM-207CA, RM-208CA - $ 70-80). Modern appearance, imported components and two years of warranty - a seductive combination. Somewhat puzzled by the method of protection against intruders. A removable device with a removable panel is something like two envelopes with money in one wallet. Functions - only the most necessary: the ranges of CB, VHF and FM, memory for 36 stations, auto search, auto reverse and clock as an option.

For almost the same money you can buy LG products - 5610, 5620, 2510, 2515 and Daewoo (Daewoo 4105, 4087, 9255, 4237, 4377, 8017). There are no fundamental differences from Urals, except that the quality is slightly better But the guarantee is only one year. Security is provided by a removable front panel. By the way, there are different panels on the same model. They differ in the shape of the buttons and the color of the screen. There is a jack for connecting a wired remote control of the CD changer, but nobody has ever sold it I saw. An important advantage - "foreigners" are certified in Russia. This means that they are not afraid of frost, and the receiver complies with our broadcast standards. There are several of the latter in the world, and it’s not possible to tune any African version to the Mayak.

Outdated samples of more eminent companies fall into this company. Such, for example, as Sony, Pioneer or Kenwood. True, their price reaches the upper limit of one hundred dollars. Well, you have to pay for a big name. In fairness, we note that they sound better than the "Koreans", although they belong to the same class.

Not trying to grasp the immensity, we mention only those brands that are more often found on the market. Perhaps it's all about advertising. They are well-known to everyone, and sellers prefer to sell popular goods. It’s easier for them to attract a buyer. Meanwhile, you can give preference to other names, but in any case, the company must be well-known ("untwisted"), and its products must have a guarantee and a Russian certificate.

Not one of the most beautiful radios will make a sound without a speaker system. All domestic cars, with the exception of the VAZ 2106, have special places for installing speakers. Those who agree with the design of the designers can only buy copies of the required size. It is usually encrypted in the first two digits of the model number. The most popular for us is 10 and 13 cm. The simplest and cheapest systems are broadband (from $ 20 per set). They are followed by two-way (from 30 to 50 dollars). Experts recommend stopping at this, as with an increase in the number of bands the price rises faster than the sound improves. All firms produce such acoustics with approximately the same quality. It is nice that our Ural also has a strong place among them.

Now about the quantity. In our sedans, there are usually two regular seats for speakers. And there are four outputs in the cheapest radio. To justify the money paid for its capabilities, it makes sense to spend a couple more columns. True, for their installation will have to prepare special places. But more on that later.

The last full-time antennas disappeared from the wings of the "Muscovites" five years ago, and the "Lada" - even earlier. Therefore, if you have a “fresh” car, you will have to take care of them yourself. Better than other radio waves, the external whip catches. It has two drawbacks: it often becomes a victim of children's (and not only) curiosity and requires holes in the body during installation. There are mounting options for the gutter and the magnet, but both are much inferior to the main one in terms of reliability. A good substitute is an active antenna. Usually glued to the glass from the inside of the car, powered by a special output of the radio. True, it is of little use on long journeys, as it “sours” already at a distance of fifty kilometers from the transmitter. Bosch is quoted higher than others by sellers (about $ 20), although they are happy to offer the same Ural ($ 15).

After returning from the market, it's time to think about installing purchases on the car.

Professional audio studios usually do not exchange small things, preferring wealthy customers and solid limousines. So, if you get into the number of their customers, you won’t get cheap. To make a concert hall out of the car’s interior, they will remove the entire casing, paste additional sound insulation, install two dozen speakers, gold-plated (so as not to rust) connectors, extend tens of meters of cables and much more. Only work will cost at least $ 1, 000, and there is no upper limit - it all depends on the imagination of a rich client.

Before contacting a company easier, evaluate the quality of finished products. Indeed, during installation, sometimes holes are cut out in the elements of the body. Suddenly they will be out of size?

The most profitable thing is to do everything yourself. For those who decide, a few recommendations.

The radio is not enough to install. It must be properly fixed, having maintained the desired angle relative to the horizon (if specified in the instructions). Most of the trouble is with the speakers. For this unit to function properly, an acoustic screen is required. Simply put - a sheet of plywood that separates the front and back of the diffuser. And why is he needed? Both of these parts form the same sound waves, only in antiphase (when the diffuser moves forward, in front of it is compression, and behind it is rarefaction and vice versa). When meeting, they cancel each other out, “eating” the sound. A short acoustic circuit occurs. This meeting is also hindered by the screen.

The performance of the speaker barely reaches two percent. Any additional work on moving a poorly fixed rear shelf or door trim where it is installed is an overwhelming task. It follows: it must be attached firmly to the body.

Experts recommend placing speakers in the cabin like this. If there are only two, then in regular places on the "dash" or in the front doors. In the latter case, not only cardboard but also metal will have to be cut. Upholstery will serve as a screen, the door panel will give rigidity. The second pair (preferably a little more powerful) in a sedan is conveniently placed on the rear window sill. The regiment of hatchbacks and station wagons, as already mentioned, is not very suitable for this purpose. In addition, when transforming a car into a van, you will have to mess with wires every time.
