We decided to make a rating of the best-selling spare parts in the categories engine, transmission, brake system, etc. Small things, like nuts, bolts, pistons, were not taken into account; consumables - candles, oil, filters, brake pads, etc. were not taken into account either. Distributing spare parts to occupied places, they tried to determine what caused the rapid sales of certain parts. In many nominations, different cars are brought together, although the leading parts for each model can be sold in different ways - some are better, some are worse.

Engine. In the first place is the valve cover gasket. Rightly fearing a leak, they change it even with a slight invasion of the motor (for example, adjusting the gaps in the valve mechanism). Regular alternator belts come with a slight lag, and poly V-ribbed ones (VAZ 2110, GAZ 3110) are asked much less often. Closing the top three are water pumps and thermostats - a good demand, probably due to a large percentage of marriage and bulkheads.

Compared to them, the valve stem seals are not sold as actively as they are in fourth place. The owners of front-wheel drive VAZs have recently often been interested in timing belts and tension rollers. Of the serious parts and assemblies of the “Volgovskiy” engines that have to be replaced before overhaul (sometimes repeatedly!) Are the cam follower rods, camshaft gears and the stuffed stuffing box of the ZMZ-402 motor, and for the sixteen-valve ZMZ-406 - hydraulic pushers, hydraulic tensioners and shoes, less often chains . The general rule for all brands: spare parts for the block head are sold about two times faster than the parts of the connecting rod and piston group, crankshaft, liners.

Separately about the components of the engine management system. The most popular positions for VAZs are: temperature sensors, throttle and crankshaft positions, idle control and ignition module. For lambda probes and neutralizers are not often sought, probably cars with toxicity reduction systems are still few. By injection "Volga" usually looking for speed sensors, gas pumps and ignition coils.

Transmission. Among the clutch parts, of course, the leading discs are leading, which are asked about twice as often as “baskets” and release bearings. The exception is Muscovites-2141, where drive disks serve no longer than followers. Perhaps, here we also take the “Volga” with 402 engines: after a long service, you still have to change all the parts at the same time, besides adding a clutch slave cylinder to them.

With a small margin follow the universal joints for rear-wheel drive cars: they rarely buy new shafts, usually they sorted out the ones that were suitable. They are caught up with the axles, which, on the contrary, prefer to be assembled - too much trouble with replacing the bearing. “Zhiguli” rear axle gearboxes are in periodic demand. Moreover, owners usually do not want to buy spare parts for a bulkhead, but choose a new unit. On the "Volga" gearbox assembly as such does not exist - its place on the counter is occupied by the main pair.

For front-wheel drive cars, outer CV joints are most often asked, which disable moisture and dirt that have crept through a damaged boot. Internal "grenades" leave the shelves poorly - they are better protected; drives assembly even worse - even wealthy owners prefer to change only the hinges, fortunately, the operation is simple.

Suspension and steering. In the group of parts for the "Lada" the first place is occupied by ball bearings, both upper and lower. “Volga”, judging by demand, often “lame” on both pivots complete with needle bearings (sometimes buyers are limited only to the latter). Extreme tie rods for rear-wheel drive VAZ and GAZ models are selling well. True, experienced “Volgars” change only the hinges themselves.

Steady demand among the owners of the "Lada" are shock absorbers and rear suspension rods - obviously, due to the abundance of marriage and the "leftist"; Volga owners often buy threaded bushings and stabilizer posts. This is followed by a pendulum lever - in large cities it is usually bought assembled, in the province they are looking for bushings. Closing the leader list are wheel bearings. They are usually taken as a kit, although some owners are limited only to the outside, postponing the difficult replacement of the inside for later.

Among the parts of the front-wheel drive VAZs and especially the “Muscovites” in front of all are telescopic racks with upper bearings and ball joints. The outer tie rods are not sold very actively - in comparison with the Zhiguli and Volgovye rods, they bathe less in mud and salt, which is why they last longer. Recently, the rails in the assembly do not diverge too well - many prefer repair kits. Sometimes they ask wheel bearings, usually front ones. Shock absorbers, front and rear springs are rarely taken.

Brake system. Excluding pads, the first place in the ranking of brake parts is firmly held by the cylinders. The peak of sales falls in the spring - after winter operation, pistons begin to wedge and the cuffs leak. Moreover, the details on the right side are updated more often - on the sidelines there is more dirt and salt. The exception is, perhaps, only the front cylinders VAZ 2108 … 2112. They are quite reliable, and therefore are in less demand.

The second and third places are shared by the front calipers assembly and the main brake cylinders. On the Volga, the latter are bought about as often as the working cylinders. Probably affected by the low quality of the products. Therefore, many craftsmen acquire repair kits and independently restore old nodes.

Electrical equipment. On the top step of the podium - components of the “distributors”. For cars with obsolete ignition systems (Zhiguli, Moskvich 2141, Volga with an ZMZ-402 engine), leaders are contact groups, moving plates, sliders, covers are less actively sold. The last two parts are also popular with owners of cars with a contactless ignition system (Samara, Tens, VAZ 2121 3).

The second place is occupied by the switches, control units and valves of the idle system (EPHH). By the way, a rather high rate of sales of these spare parts is due to the fact that many motorists purchase them in reserve. Spare parts for larger electrical appliances last longer: voltage regulators for different generators, solenoid relays and starter “bendixes”. By the way, the demand for drive gears is increasing with the first cold weather. But the "Zhiguli" reverse sensors - year-round goods. In the middle of the rating, the heater electric motor is confidently held, which sometimes crunches or whistles almost from birth.

One step below - mounting blocks, sore spots of VAZ models of the “fifth” and “eighth” families and “Muscovites-2141”. Owners of VAZs, in addition, are upholstering the thresholds of stores in search of printed circuit boards for flashlights, more often for Samar. The headache of the owners of the VAZ 2106 is the optical elements and cracked glass of the headlights, especially the dipped beam.

Body. The most popular “tin” for all brands is the hood, front wings and doors (usually the driver’s). Less often come for trunk lids and tailgate. The rear wings are also not in full demand. Hence the conclusion: we prefer to beat the front end into something motionless and durable.

Of the transparent body parts, the first place in sales is occupied by the windshield, and many motorists change it due to scuffs and scratches. More rarely, sellers bring back and door windows from the warehouse. Probably these buyers are victims of hunters for audio equipment or the contents of the “glove compartment”.
