Rest assured, the buyer is yours! The scattering of dazzling blue sparks as if says - look, they say, at me and at my pale neighbor! The ignition system is the same, the coil is common, and the results do not need comments - and so everything is clear. Well, how can I not buy it?
First things first, check out unusual devices in business. Those who do not like to solve puzzles or crosswords, and immediately climb into the answer, reassure - the result of measurements of CO and CH completely corresponds to the name of the heading, and therefore you can not read further. We invite everyone else to go a little deeper into the “physics” of the process.
So, the savings did not work - the effect of all devices is about the same as that of the fuel magnetizers. Subject VAZ 2105 3 with a contactless ignition system patiently tried on Ukhta tips, overseas wires and even the “ignition coil amplifier” - no, it doesn’t work out. The measurement results are in the table.
In general, it’s a little disappointing: the blue spark really fascinates, and there is a lot of cod from it - the energy beats over the edge. Why didn’t it work? For an answer, take a look at fig. one.
If such elements of the ignition system, such as a coil, high-voltage wires or candles, are introduced CONSCIOUSLY by the developer, then the secondary circuit capacitance shown by the dotted line or the shunt resistance of the burning of the candle interferes IN addition to HIS WILL. The mentioned capacitance is a kind of cheeseburger, into which the capacities of the secondary winding of the ignition coil (40-60 pF), distributor (15-24 pF), high voltage wires (0.9-1.2 pF), spark plugs (20 pF) are crammed etc. And the shielding of the ignition system "pulls" at all 150 pF. In addition, dirt, moisture, etc. can increase the thickness of such a cheeseburger.
It is clear that the presence in the electric circuit of various parasitic elements with unstable characteristics simply cannot but worsen its operation. Therefore, leading companies are doing their best to reduce the secondary capacity of the circuit. However, the great Dale Carnegie recommended that inveterate losers learn to turn their minuses into pluses. It seems that this is how the products in question were created.
Take a compatriot. Instead of helping us get rid of the secondary capacitance, the spark amplifier adds its own - about 100 pF. About the same capacitor, American brothers-electricians install in a beautiful set of high-voltage wires. True, its capacity is only 40 pF, and therefore less harm from the "American".
The developers had no desire to harm. Apparently, they once fell into the hands of a textbook on electrical equipment of cars, which said the following:
“The energy stored in the ignition coil is distributed as follows:
A = "capacitive" discharge + "inductive" discharge + loss.
At the same time, the “capacitive" spark has a bright BLUE color and is accompanied by a specific COD. The duration of this phase of the discharge is extremely short - only 1–2 μs, however, a surge in capacitive current reaches hundreds of amperes at a frequency of wave processes of 106 - 107 Hz … "
Unfortunately, the inventors, not having read the textbook to the end, grabbed the soldering iron. And in order not to depend on the unpredictable magnitude of the parasitic capacitance, one more was added to it - in the form of a Ukhta tip or an American “hot wire”.
But we still read the textbook. And we learn that, firstly, the aforementioned vibrations cause the strongest radio interference and erosion of the spark plug electrodes (Fig. 2). To combat these phenomena, it is necessary to introduce noise suppression resistors, use wires with distributed resistance, etc. Secondly, by increasing the duration of the capacitive phase of the discharge, we automatically “cut off” its main, inductive part: Lomonosov also popularly explained the essence of the matter. About normal radio reception and the requirements of standards, you also have to forget. And thirdly, and this is the most important thing, increasing capacity, we inevitably REDUCE THE SECONDARY VOLTAGE developed by the ignition system. The probability of reliable breakdown of the spark gap is also reduced. That's all.
It is curious that the creators of the Ukhta “amplifier” all know this very well. The instructions supplied with the product suggest reducing the clearance in the candles, abandon the tips with resistors and use only high-voltage wires that do not have resistance. Otherwise, you will experience failures when you press the gas pedal, a bad start, etc. Everything is right - you can’t deceive nature.
Yes, but what's inside the “ignition coil amplifier”? An ordinary choke, i.e. a steel core with a wire wound around it. The oscillograms of the secondary current of the “with a choke” system and without it are shown on the stand and are shown in Fig. 3.
As one would expect, the next attempt to change the reactance of the ignition system using the “scientific poke method” again failed - replacing the capacitance in the secondary circuit with the inductance in the primary circuit will not help reduce the cost of gasoline. The duration and amplitude of the current of the inductive phase of the spark discharge together decreased. The average current consumption also decreased - the power of the spark discharge clearly fell.
In general, such products can work for a disco - beautifully, loudly and mysteriously. But motorists with "blue" should not get involved.

The spark amplifier is a ceramic capacitor, designed in the form of a tip, which is screwed onto a standard spark plug. When a high voltage is applied to the candle, the capacitor is charged and after reaching the spark gap ionization is discharged.
