IN THE WEST
When buying candles, be careful: you can run into not only fake, but just marriage.
Before identifying the "left" parts, two words about the manufacturers. There are three large enterprises, which account for the bulk of the products supplied to conveyors and spare parts: JSC Automotive Tractor Glow Plugs Plant (ZAZS) in the city of Engels, State Unitary Enterprise PO Ulyanovsk Machine-Building Plant (UMP) and the Ufa Electrical Products Plant
(UZETI). One can distinguish a candle of one or another manufacturer, first of all, by the company logo on the ceramic insulator (photo 1).
So, to the store - buy candles. The first thing to do is check for completeness. On the case with a flat supporting surface, there must be a metal sealing ring, and on the factory parts it holds rather tightly. As a rule, this washer flies from the threaded part of fakes and substandard. Check if the contact nut of the high-voltage wire is in place, if it is, of course, used on a candle of this brand (photo 2).
There should be no cracks or chips on the ceramic insulator, especially with regard to the thermal cone (shown in photo 3). Sometimes a thread is torn or clogged on the metal body of a defective candle. Do not forget to check whether the side electrode is soldered well: cracks and traces of breakage at the junction will give out unfair work.
The foregoing will help to identify defective parts from the total mass, and now let's talk about fakes. We got into the hands of several fakes, hiding behind the brand of Engels ZAZS OJSC. Take a look at the first copy and compare it with the original (photo 4). One difference immediately catches your eye - there are no "current barriers" on the insulator of the non-native candle. If you take a closer look, on the left-hander case notice the paths from the cutter - it was machined from a steel hexagon. The plant uses the cold heading method, so the surface is smooth.
Another fake pretends to be incorrectly labeled. The date of manufacture is indicated on the body of the factory candle (Roman numeral is a month, two Arabic numerals are a year) and the manufacturing country ("Russia", bordered with rhombuses on both sides); knurled (photo 5). On the insulator - brand and company logo. Only the manufacturing date is stamped on the fake case, and the inscription “Made in …”, with grammatical and geopolitical errors, is embellished with ceramics.
In conclusion, we will deal with the labeling of domestic candles (see. Figure). These letters and numbers are heard by many, but not all motorists know what they are talking about.
Logos of candle giants (from left to right): two markings of Engels, Ulyanovsk, Ufa.
A - nominal diameter and thread pitch: A - M14x1.25; M - M18x1.5.
B - supporting surface: * - flat; K is conical.
C - design features: M - small-sized candle for chainsaws and other tools; U - reduced hexagon.
D is the heat number: 8, 11, 14, 17, 20, 23, 26.
E - thread length: D - 17.5 or 19 mm; * - 12 mm.
F - B - protruding thermal cone of the insulator.
G - P - built-in noise suppression resistor.
