Infiniti q45

Over the ten-year history of the Infinity brand, two generations of the Q45 model have been replaced, the last of which was mastered in 1993. The new, third Infiniti Q45 will go on sale in the United States in April 2001. It is distinguished not only by equipment that has become more luxurious (here the models for the American market did not have spaces before), but also by a very elegant appearance, as well as significantly improved driving characteristics. Infinity Vice President Tom Orb does not miss a chance to emphasize once again: "When, for economic reasons, we have to choose between, for example, a rear seat cooling system and sports-type titanium valves, we prefer to work with what is hidden under the hood."

This comparison is not taken from the ceiling - the latest Q45 motor is equipped with just such valves. Other know-how is also interesting: a variable-capacity silencer, lightweight pistons, a variable valve timing system and a special “silent” camshaft drive chain, as well as a variable geometry intake manifold. During the development, the experience gained in the design of the VQ series six-cylinder engines, which are installed on the Infiniti I30 and the QX4 all-terrain vehicle, was taken into account.

Motorists are extremely pleased with the results: the engine capacity of the new model is 400 "cubes" more than the previous one, it is 85 liters more powerful. sec., while the fuel consumption of both power units is the same. Together with an electronically controlled automatic transmission, the new engine allows the driver to realize "racing" ambitions - after all, not every car of a sports kind can reach 100 km / h in less than 6 seconds!
