По мнению автора этой статьи, именно так должны выглядеть дорожные развязки будущего. Это красиво, но главное - позволит значительно сократить время стояния в пробках. According to the author of this article, this is how road junctions of the future should look. This is beautiful, but most importantly - it will significantly reduce the standing time in traffic jams. For the first time Leonardo da Vinci spoke about crossing roads at different levels in the sixteenth century, but over the past half century new species and types have not been introduced. There are some enthusiasts, such as Semenov from St. Petersburg, Petruk from Kiev, Butelyauskas from Lithuania, Lee Dzang Hee from Korea, who are in search of optimal solutions for transport hubs. Your humble servant was also involved in this work, considering himself one of the followers of da Vinci in the field of invention and realizing the miscalculations of designers displaying intricate curlicues on traditional clovers …

The main goal of my project was to develop an interchange that would solve the problem of overcoming traffic jams on roads: to make it easy and convenient to pass intersections, which accidentally draw a third of all the sad statistics. Moreover, the decoupling is more technologically advanced and cheaper during the construction of relatively currently under construction.

I set myself three difficult compatible tasks:

  • riding on all four or more sides;
  • Riding without intersecting and interwoven streams;
  • change of any direction of movement without suspension and a significant reduction in speed.

As a result of lengthy and painstaking work, he received a patent for the invention No. 2468138, valid until 07.25.2031. The result was the world's only system of transport interchanges of a modular type of any configuration and with many options. Namely - a turbine-ring road interchange. This is not just a beautiful phrase. Its implementation will lead to a change in the definition of the transport interchange itself. In the new edition, if you add a few words, it should read like this: “Transport interchange is a complex of road structures (bridges, tunnels, roads) designed to minimize, as well as completely eliminate intersections of traffic flows and, as a result, to increase the capacity of roads."

Image Turbine Ring Interchange Benefits
  1. No problem turning left.
  2. No additional bridges and tunnels, including pedestrian ones.
  3. Lack of parasitic interlacing flows.
  4. A multiple decrease in the number of conflict points - places of separation, intersection, interweaving and merging of traffic flows. At a simple unequipped intersection at one level, there are 32 conflict points, in our case only 12, and even then because of the merger of the flows at the exit from the flyover ring into a common stream.
  5. The ability to cross any number of roads.
  6. The increased speed of passing interchanges.
  7. The possibility of organizing a transfer hub for public transport.
  8. Construction without suspension.
  9. The construction of roads of two, but no more than three levels.
  10. Lack of need for large allotments and volumes of earthwork.
  11. Organization of completely non-traffic departure routes by eliminating minor intersections where left turns remain and there will be a small mileage reversal.
  12. Improving the environment due to the rejection of the acceleration-inhibitory rhythm of movement.

Disadvantages of the turbine ring interchange

  1. The average complexity of the design.
  2. Sharp elevation changes and long slopes (they are leveled during new construction, when the circular motion is on the first or second levels).
  3. Unsuitable for central city intersections.

How much is it?

Чтобы возвести такую развязку, вовсе необязательно перекрывать дорожное движение - работы могут проводиться параллельно. To erect such a denouement, it is not necessary to block the traffic at all - the work can be carried out in parallel. Now about the most important thing for the customer - about the cost. In Moscow, decoupling is cheaper than 5 billion rubles. they don’t build, there are even two of 17 billion each. My proposals to the ministries of transport of the Chelyabinsk region, Crimea, Sevastopol, Belarus aroused some interest, but 1.5 billion rubles. it turned out to be too big an investment for them.

The specifics of the road construction business is the lack of competition, since funds are allocated from the budgets of the state or its entities to monopolists with “stable long-term ties” (as I carefully veiled kickbacks). Without rivalry, new ideas are not born, the demand for them is not formed. Indeed, financing organizations lack the concept of novelty, and it is always unprofitable for performers to change something.

On the way to the intended goal, even before patenting, I felt that the project can easily be modified for various traffic situations. And instead of one concept he created as many as nine! To get acquainted with the invention, he applied to various authorities and organizations. Namely: to the Ministry of Transport of the Russian Federation, the Government of Moscow and St. Petersburg. He proposed, for example, to make the Moscow Ring Road non-stop, to organize a non-stop traffic on Nevsky Prospekt, without violating the historical appearance of the city with its abundance of water. But nobody cares.

In 2013, the Moscow Department of Transport conducted an analysis of the efficiency of the turbine-ring interchange device in comparison with the proposals of the Research and Design Institute of the Moscow General Plan. As a result, according to their conclusions, my proposals turned out to be more effective, in particular, on the payback period - two years against six. What lost? In price. Construction costs are estimated at 2.772 billion rubles. against them a little less than two billion. So I got a refusal. In response to it, he suggested that the head of the department, Maxim Liksutov, build my denouement for 2 billion rubles, and if it wasn’t enough, then add it from your pockets. As a result, Moscow has built its denouement … for 7 billion! And the elementary school student understands that a four-level junction of roads with two tunnels that impede traffic during construction cannot be cheaper than a three-level one.

I estimate my product at 1.5 billion rubles. with a construction period of one year. Let these are controversial figures. Failure to build pedestrian overpasses or underpasses with public transport stops a short distance from the facility, as well as turning overpasses or tunnels, will save about half a billion rubles. Pedestrians cannot walk on the “clover”, and the turbine-ring ones allow it. Plus, the interchange hub and the possibility of a turn directly on the overpass, and not in front of it.

If anyone has doubts about the numbers, how can I explain that in Kiev, a roundabout was built near Paton’s bridge, three quarters similar to mine? You won’t believe it, but it was built in just six months and for less than 800 million rubles! It’s just that it was European money and everything was under construction for the 2012 European Football Championship.

Возведенная несколько лет назад в Киеве развязка у моста Патона примерно на 80% похожа на ту, что описывает в своем патенте В. Шулякин. The denouement erected several years ago in Kiev at Paton’s bridge is approximately 80% similar to that described by V. Shulyakin in his patent. Last fall, I had the opportunity to make a presentation at Avtodor. They liked it. They suggested getting opinions from reputable design organizations. Some escaped with ridiculous absentee ballots, MADI completely avoided cooperation.

As a result, there seem to be a lot of interchanges, but the traffic situation is only getting worse. The main problem of traffic jams is the constantly increasing amount of transport on the roads, which they try to assure us of, but the problems of standing transport. I have been doing them for more than two decades. In addition to the nine variations of one idea presented later, five more appeared completely different from the ideas presented.

PS: The name of the interchange can be given by the name of the city where it will appear first. Ready for adequate communication in the comments.
