The torque on the drive wheel is zero. This happens?!

Consider a simple example. Imagine that an all-wheel drive car moves along a ring road. Wheel loads are considered the same. None of the differentials are locked. Now let's try to figure out which of the four wheels has the maximum share of the total power.

Usually, having heard about the presence of a differential, they say: equally, they say - it aligns everything. But this is not true: a symmetrical differential aligns moments, not power.

Power is the moment multiplied by the frequency of rotation. This is one of the manifestations of the rule of leverage known since school years: we win in strength - we lose in the distance. In this case, with equal moments and difference in angular velocities, it turns out that the maximum power falls on the wheel, which rotates faster than others. In the situation we have described, this is the outer front wheel. It is it that moves along the trajectory with the largest radius and travels a longer path than the other "team mates".
